On September 1, the Alberta Gaming, Liquor, and Cannabis Commission got its first regulated online sports betting program. In order to realize this, Crown collaborated with NeoPollard Interactive.
The gamblers can now enjoy the sportsbook’s vast offer by accessing it via the province’s only regulated web portal PlayAlberta.ca. The offer includes many sports such as NHL, NBA, NFL, MLB, NCAA football, and even soccer.
Acting President & Chief Executive Officer of AGLC, Kandice Machado stated that the province aims to provide players with numerous offers. She added that, as time goes by, the platform will get more upgrades. Machado explained that the most important part of this project is the fact that sports betting offering is being introduced in a safe and regulated playing environment.
Liz Siver, General Manager, NeoPollard Interactive, said that her company is the main partner of Crown and that it plans to ensure the best possible lottery, casino, and sports betting offerings to Albertans.
CEO of Sporting Solution, Andy Wright has commented on the partnership between Crown and NeoPollard Interactive. He stated that the launch of Alberta’s first regulated sportsbook is a giant step forward for the gambling industry and that the offering comes at a great time as Canada has just legalized betting on individual sporting events.
