The Lotto Max grand jackpot was won by two Burlington best friends, according to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation. Chelsea Prince and Mercy Roldan are the two lucky ladies who have been playing the lottery together for quite some time and their luck has finally paid off. The CA$15.2 million prize will be split between the two friends.

Lottery games are still common in Canada, with the most popular draw-based options being Lotto Max and Lotto 6/49. Every year, the province’s lottery authorities, in this case the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, award millions of dollars to lottery players. Ms. Prince and Ms. Roldan, best friends from Burlington, are t the latest to join the lotto millionaires club. They’ve been playing the lottery together for eight years, and their luck has finally paid off with the April 13 Lotto Max draw. The two will have the enjoyable task of splitting the massive jackpot of CA$15.2 million.

Ms. Prince said that she was the one who checked the ticket on the Crown agency’s official lottery app, and she started shaking when she saw the “Big Winner” text. Ms. Roldan revealed her intentions to purchase a new property for her, and Ms. Roldan plans to use the money for the children’s education.  And, to celebrate the win, the pair will go on a trip together in the near future.

Quebec Winner

Liliane Fortin of Capitale-Nationale was recently drawn as the winner of the other half of the April 13 Lotto Max jackpot, worth CA$15,231,359 in Quebec. Ms. Fortin claimed that her ticket was purchased online at and that it is the province’s biggest lotto prize won online to date.

To comply with the social distancing guidelines, representatives from Loto-Québec conducted an online interview with the winner. Ms. Fortin expressed her thoughts for the opportunity and shared some of her plans for the big prize. Her intention is to wait a little bit before making any big decision on the money. But she will be spoiling her children a bit and plans to travel to Europe sometime.

Peter Kinsman, 62, is among the lucky lottery winners who have become millionaires as a result of the game.
