Grand River Raceway will soon receive recognition as an entertainment destination in the Waterloo Region. The raceway has been nominated for the Waterloo Region Record’s 2021 Readers’ Choice Awards. This accolade allows people to nominate their favorite business, and the raceway has been nominated in the category “Best Dinner Theatre” along with Aberfoyle Mill Restaurant; Elmira Theatre Company; and Walters Family Dinner Theatre.
Grand River Raceway already had success in this field by winning a Platinum recognition last year. The racecourse is also nominated for “Best Outdoor Tourist Attraction”. Other venues nominated in this category are African Lion Safari; Bingemans, Funworx, BigSplash; Canoeing The Grand; Chicopee Tube Park; Conestoga River Horseback Adventures; Elmira Maple Syrup Festival; Greek Festival; Multi-Cultural Festival Victoria Park; Sun Life Financial Waterloo Busker Carnival; and Sun Life Uptown Waterloo Jazz Festival.
Last year, Elements Casino Grand River won the Best Casino/Slots category. This year, it will run again for the prize alongside Elements Casino Mohawk.
