Gateway Casino & Entertainment has made progress on its Cascades Casino Delta project in British Columbia. The company has recently announced that it has signed an agreement with a hotel operator for the soon-to-be casino complex’s hospitality complex. The project will include a Delta by Marriott hotel next to the highways 99 and 17A interchange.

A 40,000-square-foot gaming floor with up to 600 slot machines and over 30 gaming tables will be available at the Delta casino. In addition, there will be a hotel with a variety of dining amenities for patrons to enjoy. The construction of the new casino complex has already started, although it was previously impacted by the unprecedented situation that substantially slowed the process.

Great Location

P.R. Hotels’ Jeff Krivoshen said in a recent news release that the company is happy to be a part of the project and to collaborate with both Gateway Casino & Entertainment and Marriott Hotels to bring the hotel to the region. He also stated that the company is pleased with the location, which is only 15 minutes away from Vancouver International Airport in the north and 15 minutes from the Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal to the south.

The agreement, according to Meridian Development’s representative Karl Miller, will benefit the City of Delta. According to Mr. Miller, the project will attract tourists, conferences, and conventions from all around the country and the United States. He also mentioned that Delta’s excellent geographic location, which will be beneficial to the new facility.

We don’t know all the details regarding the planned hotel facility yet, but according to an application submitted to the city by the gaming corporation, it will be a five-story one. It will have meeting rooms with a capacity of 116-120 people. Match Eatery & Public House, a buffet, and Atlas Steak + Fish Restaurant are among the gaming conglomerate’s trademark brands.

The casino project is expected to cost the gaming company CA$87 million, and work is already started. The company did not, however, specify a specific date for the official opening. The BCLC approved the plan for the Delta location three years ago, but the Ministry of Transportation did not approve it until 2019.

Replacing Trees

The gaming company had to remove around 45 trees from the site in order to start the construction process for Cascades Casino Delta. However, the plan is to replace the removed ones with over 225 new ones, a 5:1 increase. The location now has 507 trees, which will provide fresh air and transform the future casino into a beautiful complex.

Previous Update

Gateway Casinos & Entertainment provided a previous set of updates on the construction of Cascades Casino Delta in April. According to a company spokesperson, the development process is on schedule, as contractors have nearly completed the elevated concrete structure and are now focusing on the steel elevator structures.
