The Western Canada Lottery Corporation has announced that Andrew Weninger won CA$15,000,000 in the March 26th draw of the Lotto Max game. Andrew Weninger wasn’t even aware that he won the lottery at the time of the result announcement. His mother woke him up, delivering the great news.
Lotto Max has two draws every week, giving players a chance to win the awards twice in seven days. The main prize can go up to CA$70 million and players can also win a Maxmillion prize, worth CA$1,000,000.
After hearing the news from his mother, Mr. Weninger arrived at a WCLC office, still not believing that he won. Although the winner purchased the ticket at Pleasantville Rexall Drug Store in Edmonton, it was his mother who has checked his ticket for the March 26th draw.
When asked what he will do now, Mr. Weninger responded that he will invest a large portion of the money. He also mentioned that besides traveling, he also plans to go back to school.
As for last Friday, no lottery jackpot winner has been announced yet. The main prize worth CA$20 million was up for the taking, but it seems that no tickets from all around Canada matched the winning numbers. Lotto 6/49, the other popular game of this kind, also drew no winner for its main prize last week.
