Thunderbolt Casino has just donated an R50,000 present to Isithembiso Babies Home in Gqeberha. This is a part of the online casino annual campaign called the “67 Minutes philanthropy project” through which Thunderbolt Casino tries to raise awareness for the home and how to help people.

Thunderbolt’s manager Alisa stated:

“We strive to go by the words of our Tata M and ‘make a difference. We’re so grateful to all of our players for making this contribution possible.”

Isithembiso is a non-profit organization that helps children who require caring and feeding. The organization’s homes provide shelter to those children and help them recover from abuse and abandonment. Isithembiso also works closely with social services.

The coordinator at the center, Carmen Faragher, commented on the donation:

“Thunderbolt Casino has just increased its donation to the Isithembiso Babies Home. We’ve just got to do our part. Since the home has been open, we’ve helped more than 200 children. That’s 200 children whose lives have totally changed.”

Isithembiso’s Chairman, Eugene Marais, said that with help such as this, the home will invest in additional tools that will enable it to further change children’s lives. There are about million orphaned children in South Africa, and just about 2000 per year get adopted. This shows the organization’s need for donations because the number of children that they care about regularly increases.
