One month after Ottawa and Ontario began Step 3 of the Roadmap to Reopen plan, the Rideau Carleton Casino opens its doors this evening.
The first phase of reopening at Rideau Carleton Casino, the future home of Hard Rock Ottawa, will see slots and electronic table games open for patrons during the COVID-19 pandemic. Constant Grind, Caffe Italiano, and Rendez-Vous Lounge will also provide dining and beverages.
Helen MacMillan, General Manager of Rideau Carleton Casino said that,
“We are looking forward to welcoming our guests back to a safe and sound and fun environment.”
The Rideau Carleton Casino will open to the public on Monday at 9 p.m.
Casinos are authorized to open in Ottawa at a maximum capacity of 50% indoors under Step 3 of Ontario’s Roadmap to Reopen plan.
Patrons and staff must wear face masks while indoors at the casino. Guests must maintain physical distance from each other, and there will be impermeable barriers between players and table game staff, such as Plexiglas.
The future home of Hard Rock Ottawa, Rideau Carleton Casino, says it has established a Safe and Sound protocol system. Increased routine cleaning, with a focus on high-tough surfaces and common areas, as well as free-standing touchless hand sanitizers placed at entrances, host stands, bars, ATMs, and other locations, are all part of the policy.
During the first phase of the Rideau Carleton Casino’s reopening, table games will be unavailable.
On June 23, the Casino du Lac Leamy in Gatineau, Que., reopened with restrictions.
