Woodbine Entertainment has revealed its new celebrity ambassadors. Penny Oleksiak and Kayla Sanchez, multiple medalists in swimming, will be present at the CA$1 million Queen’s Plate event this week, acting as ambassadors of Woodbine Entertainment. Two celebrities will be Woodbine’s celebrity ambassadors ahead of the exciting weekend of live harness racing in Ontario.

The Queen’s Place is the oldest Thoroughbred racing event in Canada. It is also known as an event that generates huge interest in the industry. This year the main prize will be worth CA$1,000,000.

The CEO and President of Woodbine Entertainment, Jim Lawson, was the first to announce Penny Oleksiak and Kayla Sanchez joining his company as ambassadors. He pointed out that the company is very proud to have these two athletes join its ranks. Lawson also highlighted their performances during this summer’s 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

On Wednesday, August 18, Ms. Sanchez will be the celebrity draw master when post positions are handed out to all participants for the CA$1,000,000 event. Sanchez acquired three medals this summer in Tokyo, becoming Canada’s most decorated sportsperson.

The highly-anticipated The Queen’s Plate will begin the upcoming Sunday. According to Woodbine Entertainment, the event’s breakfast will be hosted by Jason Portuondo, and the festivities are set to begin at 10 a.m. ET.
